Green light given to 442-unit residential development proposed for Canning, N.S.

Citizens ‘disappointed’ with unanimous Kings County council vote, may appeal

COLDBROOK, N.S. — A controversial residential construction project proposed for Canning has been given unanimous approval by Kings County council.
Following a four-hour public hearing on July 26, council gave second and final consideration to a development agreement with Parsons Green Developments.
Council’s approval gives the green light to the construction of six, five-storey dwellings containing up to 70 units each. These would be built in pairs with a connecting amenity building.

The agreement also gives approval to the construction of 22 townhouses, for a total of 442 residential units. The proposal includes walking trails and the construction of 430 metres of public road in the second phase of development.
